What is Behavioral Response?
Overview
Actions are performed by a person as a conscious response to external or internal stimuli.
Behavioral response is a change in the activity of an organism in response to a stimulus. Behavioral biology is the study of the biological and evolutionary underpinnings for such changes. The idea that behavior evolved as a result of the pressures of natural selection is not new.
Behavioral responses to stress can be transmitted from parents to offspring. When an offspring observes an expression of fear-like behavior in response to a stress stimulus, the offspring will elicit the same response when the stimulus is presented.
Behavior designers combine psychology, design, technology, and creative methods to discover what people do and through experimentation find out how to activate them to change their behavior. It is a branch of scientific research that aims to answer why people do certain things within a technological framework.
