The frequency of the wavelength of the color; What we generally refer to as the color of an object. Hue is the characteristic of a color that causes it to be seen as red, green, etc., and depends on its dominant wavelength and is independent of intensity or lightness.
Hues are a gradation or variety of a color; tint pale hues. the property or distinct characteristics of light by which the color of an object is classified as red, blue, green, or yellow in reference to the spectrum. color: all the hues of the rainbow. Form, or appearance.
The standard set of colors is in their pure form because they are found on the color spectrum. For example, red, green, orange, yellow, violet, and blue are all examples of color.
