What is Mockup?
Overview
A term that gets thrown around often in UI/UX environments, mockups are static representations of a product. Mockups refer to the visual representation of a design or product for a web page or mobile application. A mockup shows what the final product will look like.
Mockup is the UX design term for a representative model of a website or its feature. It gives users an overview and an idea of how the live design/feature will function.
Mockups represent the final design of a product. Unlike Prototype, Mockup is static and does not involve any interaction.
This is usually shared with customers and stakeholders between the phases of wireframe and prototyping.
In manufacturing and design, a mock-up is a scale or full-size model of a design or device, used for demonstration, learning, design evaluation, promotion, and other purposes.
Mock-ups are mainly used by designers to acquire feedback from users.
