The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international organization for the World Wide Web. Founded by Tim Berners-Lee, in 1994; the consortium is made up of member organizations that maintain full-time staff working together in the development of the World Wide Web.
The W3C organization is the primary international standards organization for the web committed to improving the web. The goal of the W3C is to lead the web to its full potential by creating technical standards and guidelines to ensure that the web remains open, accessible, and interoperable for everyone around the world.
W3C well-known standards HTML and CSS are the foundational technologies on which websites are built. The W3C works to ensure that all major web technologies meet the needs of civil society in areas such as accessibility, internationalization, security, and privacy.
